Day 1
Meet the group and counselors at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Escalante UT (80 S Center St, Escalante, UT 84726) at 10:00am. To begin the trip we will spend the first two hours getting to know each other, going over the safety procedures, and setting goals. We will then pack up the vehicles and head to the Coyote Gulch trailhead. At the trailhead we will get geared up, put the sunscreen on and start our descent to the Escalante River. We will arrive at camp tired and ready to eat! After dinner there will be plenty of time for games, campfire stories, a fireside and journals. When you climb in your sleeping bag to end the day don’t forget to look up at some of the brightest stars you will ever see!
Day 2-3
Your alarm clock on day 2 and 3 will be the sun warming up your face. After you wake up and eat breakfast you will get to hear great devotionals from your counselors. Following devotionals you will find a secluded spot in the wilderness for scripture study, pondering, and prayer. We will then spend the day backpacking through Coyote Gulch, exploring side canyons, swimming in the black lagoon, playing in waterfalls, looking for God through his creations and enjoying each other’s company. Each night the campsite will get prettier and more amazing. On our final night under the stars we will have a fireside and testimony meeting.

On our last day we will wake up bright and early to hike out before the full heat of the sun beats down on us. There will be cold drinks waiting for us when we get to the cars! After we load up our gear we will head to a swimming hole and will spend the rest of our time together swimming and exploring slot canyons. Our trip will come to an end at 5 pm when we will say goodbye to our new friends and reunite with our parents.
